Traffic Control Measures for the Route 70/73 Marlton Circle Elimination Project

Local Police as necessary will be utilized to assist with traffic control during construction operations.
Variable message signs will be installed to inform motorists regarding any change in traffic operations during construction.
NJDOT’s Traffic Operations Center South will provide up to date traffic information to regional traffic services.
The NJDOT Resident Engineer and Construction Office South will work with the Contractor and fire/police responders to ensure access to the work zone.
Route 70 and Route 73 will remain open to traffic at all times. Route 70 and Route 73 will experience traffic shifts.
Temporary traffic signals are proposed along Route 70 and Route 73 at various locations to improve traffic patterns during construction.
Access to local businesses and properties will be maintained.
There are no detours anticipated in order to construct the proposed improvements.

The Allowable Lane Closure Hours are as Follows:

Single lane closures, if required, are allowed based upon the following guidelines:

- Monday thru Sunday 9PM to 6AM the next day

Shoulder closure will be permitted at any time, except during the holiday periods.

Allowable complete roadway closure hours for the placement of bridge beams/overhead sign structures on Routes 70/73 are between the hours of 11 PM and 5 AM, Monday through Thursday for a maximum of 15 minute durations – holiday restrictions apply.

Stopped traffic shall be allowed to flow freely to the satisfaction of the Resident Engineer between successive 15-minute road closure periods.

Single lane closures will not be permitted on the following holidays:
- Easter Sunday (including 6:00AM Saturday until Noon Monday)
- Memorial Day (See Note Below)
- Independence Day (See Note Below)
- Labor Day (See Note Below)
- Election Day (6:00 AM until 8:00 PM the day of)
- Thanksgiving Day (See Note Below)
- Christmas Day (See Note Below)
- New Year’s Day (See Note Below)

No lane closures are permitted if a holiday falls on these days:
- Sunday or Monday 6:00 AM Friday until Noon Tuesday
- Tuesday 6:00 AM Friday until Noon Wednesday
- Wednesday 6:00 AM Tuesday until Noon Thursday
- Thursday 6:00 AM Wednesday until Noon Monday
- Friday or Saturday 6:00 AM Thursday until Noon Monday
